Introduction to SMESH

MESH module of SALOME is destined for:

• import and export of meshes in MED format,

• meshing geometrical models previously created or imported by the GEOM component. MESH module allows to apply 1D, 2D, 3D meshing algorithms and a set of hypotheses:

• Local length

• Number of segments

• Max Element Area

• Max Element Volume

• modification of locally generated meshes by

• Addition/deletion of nodes and elements

• Moving nodes and elements

• grouping mesh elements and performing operations on these groups

• quality control of meshes basing on a set of definite criteria -

for edges:

• Length of edges

• Borders at multi-connections

• Free borders

for faces:

• Area

• Free edges

• Borders at multi-connection 2D

• Length 2D

• Minimum angle

• Taper

• Aspect Ratio

• Warping

• Skew

for solids:

• Aspect ratio 3D
