  43       <H2>Common information</H2>
  44       <P>The version <B>2.2.4 </B>is a minor SALOME maintenance release that
  45       contains bug fixes and minor improvements.</P>
  46       <P>The SALOME 2.2.4 version is targeting the Redhat 8.0 platform as a
  47       reference. Please see the README file (on the installation CD) for SALOME
  48       installation and execution.</P>
  49       <P>For the full list of modifications since SALOME 2.2.0, see the change
  50       log file.</P>
  51       <H2>Improvements</H2>
  52       <P>SALOME &nbsp;2.2.4 has the following &nbsp;major improvements and

 167       <H2>Known limitations</H2>
 168       <P>SALOME 2.2.4 has the following known limitations: </P>
 169       <UL type=disc>
 170         <LI class=MsoNormal style="mso-mso-mso-list: l2 level1 lfo8">Open
 171         Cascade Technology 5.2.3a that is delivered on the CD for Mandrake 10.1
 172         is in binary form only. This version is a special patch prepared in
 173         order to port SALOME to Mandrake 10.1 and gcc 3.4. This is not yet a
 174         certified Open Cascade Technbology version and may have eventual
 175         regressions in various functionalities. Thus there may be slight
 176         difference in behaviour among Redhat 8.0 and Mandrake 10.1 installations
 177         of SALOME. Please contact maintenance in case if you have any problems
 178         with it
 179         <LI class=MsoNormal style="mso-mso-mso-list: l2 level1 lfo8">Sometime
 180         SALOME does not start from first time (bug PAL8142). The fix will be in
 181         next maintenance release.
 182         <LI class=MsoNormal
 183         style="mso-mso-mso-list: l2 level1 lfo8">Installation from source codes
 184         is not assured on RedHat 9.0 systems. Third party products compilation
 185         (like Python) was not overally tested and can fail due to differnces in
 186         some RPM packages between Redhat 8.0 and 9.0 versions.
 187         <LI class=MsoNormal style="mso-mso-mso-list: l2 level1 lfo8">The
 188         Sauv2Med converter has regressions due to recent changes in the MED
 189         module. See <A

 191         </A>for details. These regressions will be addressed in the future
 192         maintenance releases.</LI></UL>
